RED BANK, NJ: Newtek Energy Solutions Executive VP, Howard Coffey announced today that its technology partner PE Retail Sales LLC, a Florida based company has received their UL listing for their full line of LED fluorescent light tube replacements. LEDGREEN TM line of fluorescent replacement products is the only LED light tube in North America with the UL listing. Coffey said; “This lighting system is what America needs right now! Our light tube is not going to be a fast cure to our energy problems. It certainly is a viable solution in resolving our dependency on fossil fuel.”

RED BANK, NJ: Newtek Energy Solutions Executive VP, Howard Coffey announced today that the LEDGREEN ™ LED tube product they manufacture and distribute was successfully installed in a special education environment in a NJ public school. After the installation is was apparent that the new technology of LED lamps may be helpful in addressing flickering and strobing effect that autistic children seem to be experiencing with fluorescent lighting.
After a meeting with the school engineers it was discovered that there was a problem that was in need of a solution. Several students who have various degrees of autism were apparently distressed by the lights used in their classroom. After a few hours one or several of the students would turn off the lights. This was an ongoing problem and there was no solution previously discovered.
Although this LED tube lamp was designed around an energy efficient, zero maintenance model this technology may be a real help to schools around the country. It was stated by the assistant principal of a local high school " The teacher and aides who spend time in the classroom all have stated that the LED lights seem to have a calming effect to the classroom environment. Other staff members who come to the classroom from other rooms that are illuminated with fluorescent bulbs have the same positive comments about the LED lighting. We feel confident that these lights have made a positive impact on our students in our autistic program. We will continue to investigate installing LED lighting in other areas of our school where students with autism are educated. "
Coffey said, we understand this is in the early stages of testing but we feel confident in the findings and a continued investigation and more scientific testing is needed to be done to be certain, but it makes sense. LED product operate differently from other lighting products. I give a lot of credit to the Southern Regional School System. They saw a problem, addressed it and sought out a solution, I am happy we could be a part of that solution.

This new 10 watt LED product will reduce energy consumption by as much as 75 % over conventional fluorescent lighting products currently on the market. Coffey said; “This light tubes is just what we need to drastically reduce energy consumption and the carbon footprint associated using electric power. We have the technology to help, people have to think outside the box and seek out alternate methods to save. Our planet and our children’s future depends on it.”
